Before Your Hardwood Installation

Here's what you can expect before your hardwood installation with Wellston:
- A member of the team will walk you through our installation process, answering any questions that you might have about the work, timetables, and what to expect.
- We ask that you remove all furniture from the room(s) in question prior to your hardwood installation.
- Children and pets should be vacant from the premises on installation day for their safety and ours.
- Any painting work should be completed before installation.
- Doors may need to be removed before installation.
- Have a subflooring plan with your installation. Specifically, who will take care of it, and does it need to be taken care of?
- Have a plan for all waste. Where will it be disposed of?
During & After Hardwood Installation
On hardwood installation day, you can expect the following:
- There are two basic methods of hardwood installation; they are glue-down and nail-down.
- For a glue-down hardwood installation, the general process involves spreading adhesives on your subflooring and laying the hardwood planks individually. Your crew will cut the hardwood pieces to fit the layout of the room while ensuring that no gaps exist at the culmination of the job
- For a nail-down hardwood installation, a similar process will be followed as the glue-down installation, but instead, the crew will use nails instead of adhesive.
- From there, allow 24 hours for the materials to settle while also running a fan to remove any installation-related smells.
- From there, you are free to enjoy your beautiful new hardwood floors.
